(this is a brief overview of our lesson plan!)
|
|
|

It's the Process...
* Children learn through play! We will offer plenty of time for free play.
* Each season we will have new themes and changes to the centers. We will follow the interests of the children when making
these changes- i's THEIR classroom!
*We never require a child to participate in an activity. Rather, we encourage their involvement.
* Most of the art activities you will see are open ended creative art activities. We try to stay away from art projects
that dictate to the children the way their project should look. We encourage the children to do it THEIR way- it doesn't have
to look the same as anyone elses!
Remember, it's the process not the product that counts!

Creating a Jewish Community
As our curriculum has a hands-on approach, experiential Jewish learning is highly valued. Decorating the Sukkah on Sukkot,
lighting the Chanukiah on Chanukah, enjoying a sedar for Tu B'shvat, creating a model seder for Passover and celebrating Shabbat
for each child and their family are all important aspects of the year. Through the celebration of life cycle events, holidays,
nature, and festivals, it is our goal to pass on the joy and traditions of Judaism.
For Families and Friends of the Oval Kids!

Circle Time (or is it Oval Time??)
Here we get a chance to join together for discussion, to chart the weather, and explain the day's exciting activities.
We will sing songs, do creative movement, and read stories. Math and language skills are built into circle games. More importantly,
the children start to participate in a longer group activity and feel comfortable speaking up in front of peers and teachers.
It won't take very long before your child is walking into the classroom like she or he owns the place!
We look forward to a fun and exciting year with your children. Please keep in touch.
