My Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

By Tess Mendelson

First I got up in the morning and
put on my Gan shirt. We got on
a bus. My partner was Stacey. We
sang songs and we sang Old McDonald. My mom was there! We went on a hayride and the hay was comfortable so I liked riding in it. We got some pumpkins with Stacey. My pumpkin was a broken one but I liked it. I got another pumpkin for Luke. I rode home with my mom. Oh, we saw Elmo. It was a little cow that eats grass. They were black

My Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

By Lucy Goldberg

On field trip day I got dressed in
my Gan shirt. I’m just kidding. No
I didn’t, but I did wear one. Mamma
took me to school. Stacey was my
good good partner. I sat with Janet
on the bus. We had a snack of
graham crackers. The steps to the
bus were big but I didn’t need
help. We went to see the cows.
We were on the hayride. It was
slippery. I found a green pumpkin
and I put it on the hayride. I saw
some water. Back on the bus I ate
an apple. We went back to the
Gan and then went home. And
ate lunch and took a rest and
watched a Dora video.

Welcome Parents!

Yes, our new class web site is finally here. There are still things to add/change, but for now I think it contains all current need-to-know info. I am hoping that this site will be easier to navigate and will keep everyone updated on class and school happenings. Let me know how it works for you. Suggestions are appreciated!!

My Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch By Matt Polin: I remember I was tired. I got on the bus and got a partner. Jonas was my partner when we were going there. But on the bus I sat with Simon and then I sat with Jacob. We were playing doo-doo- doooo singing. It was fun. La-la-la- la. I was looking at all the animals on the farm and the chickens had long beaks and might get me. My favorite part was to see cows. I wish I could go there again. I think about my friends.

THANKS TO TAMMY AND JACKIE FOR CHAPERONING AT THE P.PATCH!!

Barnyard Buddies

It is a real learning opportunity to do a Farm unit in preschool during the fall when we get to visit the pumpkin patch. The kids always love taking a field trip to see and touch the animals. Often children haven't seen things from a farm AT the farm. They're fascinated by the many fruits and vegetables on display, especially the huge ones, and get very excited to learn that so many foods are grown here.

We're sure to have fun down on the farm!

Take Me Out to the Barnyard

(tune: Take Me Out to the Ballgame)

Take me out to the barnyard.

Take me out there right now.

Show me the cows, pigs and horses, too.

I hear an oink and a neigh and a moo.

There are chickens laying their eggs.

If they don't lay it's a shame.

Oh, it's one, two, three eggs today,

And I'm glad I came.
